My name is Brandon "Bubba" Brooks. I'm a computational biologist currently based in San Diego, CA, working at Singular Genomics.
I specialize in making sense of complex biological data, with a focus on genomics, metagenomics, and multi-omics integration. My passion lies in translating raw data into actionable insights that can drive scientific discovery and innovation.
Officially, my name is Brandon Brooks, though I only respond to the name Bubba. I realize the name likely conjures the image of a shrimp boat captain or a cartoon bear, depending on where you're from in the world, but, unfortunately, I'm neither. I'm a scientist interested in microorganisms. I'm considered modifying Wikipedia's inventory of Bubbas to include a scientist but was once told writing content on Wikipedia about one's self is poor form.
